Glendon Tait

Dr. Glendon Tait is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is Director of Student Assessment for the Temerty Medicine MD Program. Dr. Tait practices Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Sinai Health and is a Centre Researcher at the Wilson Centre.

Dr. Tait completed a B.A. (Hons) from the University of New Brunswick, an M.Sc. from the University of Alberta, and M.D. from the University of Calgary. He completed both his residency in psychiatry and a Fellowship in Health Professions Education Research at the Wilson Centre for Research in Education at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Tait led the implementation of programmatic assessment in the MD program, shifting more emphasis to the learning and coaching functions of assessment, an area of focus for his scholarship. Dr. Tait is Past-President of the Canadian Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and is a Director of the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME).

Dr. Tait’s work has been recognized with the University of Toronto W.T. Aikins Award for Excellence in  Development and Use of Educational Innovations (2020), the CAME Certificate of Merit (2022) and the Medical Council of Canada Outstanding Achievement Award in the Evaluation of Clinical Competence. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Psychiatric Association.
