Faculty appointments

It would be expected that as you teach, you would begin or already be in the process of obtaining a faculty appointment with the University of Toronto. Information about the process for obtaining a faculty appointment can be found in this step-by-step guide to applying for a faculty appointment.

If you are already an affiliated Trillium Health Partners physician, please contact Kim Bradley who will help guide you through the process.

Direct teaching compensation program

Community physician tutors and seminar leaders who are not part of any practice plan may be compensated at the rate of $100 per hour for direct Mississauga Academy of Medicine student teaching time for tutorials and seminars required by the course curriculum as articulated in the course syllabus; inclusive of both university-based assignments and hospital-based assignments.

Physicians are periodically approached with requests for assisting with other non-core curriculum activities - although physicians provide considerable value, there is no associated payment available for these valued contributions.

When accepting a teaching assignment, it is the responsibility of the community physician to understand whether the assignment is considered to be mandatory curriculum and eligible for compensation. It is recommended that payment be discussed during recruitment.

To set up or update payment information, please contact the Financial Officer as follows:

Tel: 905.569.4552
