Teaching Opportunities at the Mississauga Academy of Medicine

Physician Teaching

Are you a physician interested in teaching at the Mississauga Academy of Medicine? There are a variety of teaching options (small group tutorial, seminar, or lecture) for each year in the various courses.  Please review the 2024-25 Undergraduate Teaching Opportunities in Mississauga for more information.

Family Medicine Longitudinal Learning Experience (FMLE)

Are you a community-based family physician interested in teaching medical students? We are recruiting teachers for the "FMLE" (Family Medicine Longitudinal Experience - a 6 half-day clinical experience for all 2ndyear medical students at the University of Toronto), and will provide a $600 stipend for your time. Complete the Online Application.

Research and Quality Improvement

MAM medical students are keenly interested in becoming involved in your scholarly projects, including research and quality improvement. For more information, please visit the Research Opportunities at MAM page.

Assistant Invigilators

If you are a current University of Toronto graduate or post-graduate student and are interested in becoming an Assistant Invigilator for the Mississauga Academy of Medicine, please send a resume with a cover letter by email to Elizabeth Day.

Direct teaching compensation program

Community physician tutors and seminar leaders who are not part of any practice plan may be compensated at the rate of $100 per hour for direct Mississauga Academy of Medicine student teaching time for tutorials and seminars required by the course curriculum as articulated in the course syllabus; inclusive of both university-based assignments and hospital-based assignments.

Physicians are periodically approached with requests for assisting with other non-core curriculum activities. Your contributions to these activities add considerable value for the MAM learner experience. Do note that there is no associated payment available for these valued contributions.

When accepting a teaching assignment, it is the responsibility of the community physician to understand whether the assignment is considered to be mandatory curriculum and eligible for compensation. It is recommended that payment be discussed during recruitment.

To set up or update payment information, please contact the Financial Officer:
