Director’s Welcome

The MD/PhD Program of the Faculty of Medicine is a vital component of the education strategy at the University of Toronto to train the next generation of physician scientists. Our MD/PhD Program aims to educate students in science and medicine so that they are well positioned for success as physician scientists. We provide an innovative curriculum, a strong mentorship program and cutting edge research and clinical training in different fields of science and medicine.

We are in an era of rapid advances in many areas of science from basic biomedical to health services research and implementation science. Physician scientists will play a pivotal role in research and innovation that will bring these advances to improved care, new treatments and cures for our patients. This is an exciting time to be in science and medicine to translate discoveries to improve human health.
