As the class makes this key transition, the received words of encouragement from Dean Trevor Young, Dr. Stacey Bernstein, Clerkship Director and MD Program Vice Dean Dr. Patricia Houston led the class in the clerkship oath.

“Almost exactly two years ago, we were in the exact same hall during our orientation week, anxious about what was to come,” recalls Doshi. “At the Transition to Clerkship dinner, two years later, it was great for our class to come together, joined by our faculty who have been by our side and continue to support us through our endeavours.”

Dr. Danielle Martin provided the evening’s keynote address that focused on developing a vision for the health care system, just as students develop a vision for themselves. She spoke about the power of looking broadly at the big picture and improving quality as practitioners. She was also passionate about the importance of maintaining a work-life balance – something she practices daily as a prominent leader in health care, practitioner and a mother.
