Katina Tzanetos

Dr. Katina Tzanetos graduated from the MD Program at McMaster University and completed her Master's of Health Science in Community Health and Epidemiology from the University of Toronto. She is an Associate Professor at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and is a member of the Department of General Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. Dr. Tzanetos is currently the Associate Director, Student Assessment in the MD Program at the University of Toronto and has held prior leadership roles in the program including Director, Wightman-Berris Academy, Clinical Skills Lead, and helped to found the AACE-IT Program which offers academic remedial teaching to medical students. Dr. Tzanetos has been a member of the MD Program Admissions Committee and Board of Examiners, and nationally, has chaired the Medical Council of Canada’s Medicine Test Committee. Dr. Tzanetos is a highly regarded and committed teacher who has received numerous teaching awards including the Medical Alumni Association E. Mary Hollington Teaching Award for excellence in Clerkship and the 2014 Class of 8T9 Medical Alumni Award. This award is selected by the graduating class and is given to the individual teacher for the outstanding role model who displays compassion, guidance and understanding to the students in the MD program.
