Shelley Kraus

Dr. Shelley Kraus is the MD Program Associate Director, Clinical Skills, and a Lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. She completed her medical degree, family medicine residency, and CCFP-EM (Enhanced Skills) training at the University of Toronto, and has over a decade of experience practicing Emergency Medicine at Credit Valley Hospital (CVH).

Dr. Kraus has served in several medical education leadership roles, including as the Year 2 Clinical Skills Site Lead and the Undergraduate Emergency Medicine Program Lead, both at CVH, Mississauga Academy of Medicine. She loves teaching and mentoring learners at every stage of training — from those aspiring to become physicians, through undergraduate medical education, clerkship, and residency, to fellows and new staff.

Dr. Kraus believes Clinical Skills plays a vital role in helping a physician grow into who they will become — building the compassion, connection, and communication patients and families deeply value. Her goal is to help every learner recognize how capable they already are, while feeling supported and challenged in ways that form the foundation of the physician we would all want caring for someone we love.
