Financial information for international students

World mapFunding

Canada Immigration and Citizenship requires all international students to show that they have adequate resources before admitting them to Canada. Grant funding from the University and/or Faculty of Medicine will therefore normally be awarded only if there is evidence that your circumstances have changed since your arrival in Canada. In no instance is the amount sufficient to cover total university costs.

Tuition and fees for international students for the 2020-2021 academic year have been set. Please note that these may be subject to change. Additional budget items outlined cover the nine month academic session for the first year of the MD Program.

International students who wish to apply for a private line of credit from a financial institution in Canada may be required to have a co-signor who is either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP)

International students are not provided with health insurance through the Ontario government. You must enroll in the UHIP.
