Abstracts maybe submitted in any area of LIC scholarship including but not limited to:

Posters

Posters maybe submitted in one of two categories:

  1. Research: using a scholarly approach to add to new knowledge about LICs. Should conform to usual standards of rigour for scientific work (i.e. clear question, appropriate and well described methods, appropriate analysis and conclusions). A variety of methods and approaches including reviews, mixed-methods, qualitative and quantitative are welcome. 
  2. Innovation or Program Description: sharing an innovation, solution related to LIC education. Should provide a clear description of the relevance to the general LINC and education community

A maximum of 15 authors per abstract are permitted. 
For Research abstracts, please structure your submission as: Title/Introduction/Methods/Results/Discussion/Conclusion

For Innovation abstracts, please structure your submission as:
Background and Context/Innovation or Solution/Implementation or Evaluation/Take-home Messages

All abstracts have a maximum word limit of 250 words (title and author names do not count towards this limit).

Oral presentations

Oral presentations are a brief communication of work that will be presented in themed sessions during CLIC. Sessions will be moderated. Each presentation will have 10 minutes for the presenter followed by 5 minutes of discussion and questions. Presentations can be submitted to one of two categories:

  1. Research: using a scholarly approach to add to new knowledge about LICs. Should conform to usual standards of rigour for scientific work (i.e. clear question, appropriate and well described methods, appropriate analysis and conclusions). A variety of methods and approaches including reviews, mixed-methods, qualitative and quantitative are welcome.
  2. Innovation or Program Description: sharing an innovation, solution related to LIC education. Should provide a clear description of the relevance to the general LIC and education community.

Workshops

Workshops provide an interactive and hands on opportunity for teaching and development relevant to LICs. Each workshop is allocated 1.5 hours where issues related to LIC education may be discussed. We emphasize the importance of providing adequate time for participant interaction with presenters and/or fellow participants. 

Workshop submissions should be structured as Title/Background/Intended Audience/ Structure/ Anticipated Outcomes. A maximum limit of 400 words is allowed excluding title and author names. All workshops will include standard AV, poster paper, markers, and pens.  

PeArLS

PeArLS are a unique opportunity to share and receive feedback on your ideas related to LICs. These are quick rapid-fire presentations to a large group. The PeArLS session will be facilitated and moderated with the aim to draw out useful lessons and advice for participants. Brief 5 minute presentations should be related to LICs in areas of research, innovations, development, administration or other topics in LIC scholarship. Following the presentation, the audience will have 15 minutes to discuss and to provide input on the topic. Abstracts may be structured as you see fit but with a maximum of 150 words not including title and author names. 

All abstract submitters are asked to indicate if, a) they are a student b) if this is their first CLIC conference c) if presentation will be in English or French.
