Applying for the Summer Mentorship Program
How to apply
Please complete the online application to apply to the 2019 Summer Mentorship Program. Please note that you must be 16 by June 30, 2019 to be eligible for this program. You earn a high school credit (GLN40) for Navigating the Workplace if you successfully complete the SMP. To begin the application you'll need to connect with your Guidance office so that you can get a copy of your transcript. The transcript is attached directly to the application in PDF or JPEG format. Your Provincial Report Card will not be accepted as a substitute for your transcript.
In the online application you'll be asked to provide your name, your gender, your contact information, the contact information for your Guidance Counsellor/Teacher, the contact information for your parent/guardian, and emergency contact information. To complete the application you’ll be asked to provide a statement of interest that explains "what makes you a good candidate for the Summer Mentorship Program." The statement of interest requires some reflection and you are encouraged to write your answer in advance and then cut and paste it into the application to avoid any disruptions to the application process.
The deadline for the SMP is March 22, 2019 — but, since space is limited, please apply early. If you complete and submit the application by January 18, 2019 you will be invited for an interview in early February and successful applicants will receive an early admission offer for the SMP.
