1. To be able to describe how childhood adversity, parental sensitivity, and somatization are related from the perspective of attachment theory.

2. To appreciate some of the benefits and limitations of studying lifelong developmental processes in separate adult and child cohorts.

3. To discuss the value of parenting interventions to reduce unexplained physical symptoms.
